Introduction: Analyzing Learning Outcomes with Driscoll's Model

Driscoll's model of reflection consists of three main questions, like “What”, “So what” and “Now what”. Those questions of the model help in understanding and explaining the learning process and outcome. Moreover, the assessment will describe the reflection of the learning by the modules. Nevertheless, the reflection helps individuals to identify the changes and progress during the module and each week learning as well.

Driscoll's Model

Driscoll model is one of the best for reflection that explains and describes the learning process and its outcome or progress. Moreover, this reflection model is made of three major questions, like what, in which the explanation of the overall learning will be explained. That the question of “So what?” in which the learning outcome gets identified with the benefits. Further, the last question is “Now what?” by which the use of the learning or the progress can be easily evaluated as well (Adeani, Febriani and Syafryadin, 2020). Moreover, this model helps the individual reflect on the experience at the same time. Nevertheless, this model is one of the simplest to understand and compare.

Reflection

Step one of the assessment consisted of the equation “What” in which the module and the learning of each week is explained. For example, in the week one some learning style has been explained, like visual perception, listening comprehension. Moreover, some learning shapes or the forms of training like skills, habit, attitude, preference, experience and strategies have been studied. Those forms of learning help a student to develop new skills and knowledge for growth and development (Stehle and Peters-Burton, 2019). Further, some condition of learning like New experiences, a solid base or foundation, rehearsal, and demonstration. Additionally, that condition of learning is to maintain and influence a continued learning habit. Nevertheless, reading skills are important for students to enhance so some techniques that can encourage individuals to read more.

Moreover, in week two, the module has come to real-life practices to encourage the student to read and learn more through different fun activities. Some activities are like post on internet, newspapers, and quotes. That the next topic have consisted of importance of reading like the expansion of knowledge and vocabulary, While continues reading importance like improve focus, concentration (Atayeva, et. al, 2019). The difficulties can be like cope up with reading volume and selecting something to read. Nevertheless, in week three research, evaluation and integration have been explained so like methods of researching, find sources and evidence or the criteria of writing samples. In the second step, some of the main important points will be covered that explain the importance and process of the learning, like “so what”. Moreover, this module is basically based on academic learning and the topics cover the basics from understanding learning styles and developing reading styles to practical learning. Nevertheless, while studying the module, I learnt that through many activities it was a fun learning experience, and I got to learn many things regarding the writing (Shute et al., 2021). Further, all those topics like reading, writing and researching, or the critical thinking, helped me in upgrading skills and gaining knowledge. Additionally, because of the fun activities and interesting topics that were easy to understand, it helped in learning some new skills. Some of the skills, like effectively writing, increase the focus duration and a new habit of reading. Nevertheless, the habit of reading will help in increasing vocabulary and knowledge.

At the same time, effective writing will be helpful to me in academia and the workplace as well. Moreover, the module has one of the essential topics called research that has improved my skills of researching like sources, keyword searching, evidence, etc. Further, because of the module, there are many things that were to help in learning and improving the academic writing. So during one of my assessments, those learning this module have helped in efficiently completing it and improved my writing skills as well (Sholah, 2019). Moreover, the assessment helped me in critical thinking and developing good research skills. Nevertheless, because of those skills and knowledge gained by daily reading, the assessment was complete without facing many problems at the same time.

In step 3, the question “Now what?” will be answered, in which some factors that have gone right and some that have gone wrong will be identified. Additionally, some lessons that have been learnt till now and plans that need improvement will be described. Moreover, there are many things that I have learnt till now because of this module, like critical thinking, effective writing, reading habits, researching and, most importantly, academic writing (Huy and Thuy, 2021). Those skills not only will help me in academics but in the professional or the workplace as well. Nevertheless, while understanding the academic writing because of the complexity and volume, also remembering all these factors that need to be focused on was difficult.

Nevertheless, with continuous practice, the issues and difficulties would be avoided. However, from the next semester, I will try to improve my skill and knowledge with the help of professor guidelines and modules. Further, because of the lessons learnt during this module, the next semester will be better and easier to cope with. As the focus duration and continuous learning have been developed till now, learning new things will be easier and more feasible for me. Some actions that need to be taken in the future are as follows:

  • Improving the reading habits to enhance focus, knowledge and writing skills, by which an understanding for further studies can be more efficient.
  • Continue learning so new skills can be developed that can help in academics and, at the same time, in the workplace in the respective field of work.
  • Moreover, instead of regular studies, some fun activities or practicals can be used to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Conclusion

The assessment is based on the reflection of the learning from the module with the help of Driscoll's model. The Driscoll's model of reflection helps the individual to understand three major questions stepwise. Moreover, in step one, the major topic of the module that is covered each week has been explained. In step two, the use of those learnings, and in step three, the plans for the future have been mentioned.
