I set out to gain fundamental academic study skills in Module 1 of our course, which would not only help me succeed in my academic pursuits but also help mould my professional development. The purpose of this reflective essay is to examine and assess the significance of important study techniques, such as accurate reference, reading comprehension, academic style, source evaluation, and presenting abilities.

Discussion

Description: During the first part of Module 1, I became acquainted with a variety of reading techniques. By means of skimming, scanning, and thorough analysis, I acquired the skill of effectively extracting useful information. This ability has not only helped me understand academic books more quickly, but it has also come in very handy in my day-to-day life, allowing me to process information efficiently.

Feelings: At first, I was intimidated by the rigorous intellectual approach demanded by our assignments. Nonetheless, practise and constant exposure enabled me to internalise this formal language. My writing has improved and the overall quality of my work has increased after I realised how important it is to follow academic rules.

Evaluation: Finding and analysing reliable scholarly materials has shown to be a transforming talent. My analytical skills have improved as a result of my capacity to navigate through a multitude of resources, identify credible information, and critically assess their credibility. This is definitely a transferable skill that will help me in my academic endeavours as well as in my future career endeavours.

Analysis: A key component of academic writing has been accurate referencing. Citing sources correctly is an important part of maintaining academic integrity and shows how in-depth the study was. When developed, this ability greatly enhances the legitimacy and genuineness of one's output.

Conclusion: In summary, the growth of my presentation abilities has been an essential aspect of my academic journey. I've learnt to clearly convey difficult topics whether I'm writing reports or giving oral presentations. Since successful communication is essential for success in any sector, this ability has the potential to have a significant impact on my professional life.
